CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Gives injections and treatments and performs routine laboratory tests. Assists in patient care activities such as dressing changes and leg wraps. Prepares treatment room for examination of patient. Assists with physical examinations by preparing supplies and handing instruments and materials to the doctor as directed. Provides patients with basic instruction and information regarding examination procedures. Cleans and sterilizes medical instruments while observing principles of sterile technique. Schedules patients for tests and completes required forms for laboratory work. Maintains accurate and complete patient records and documentation. Orders, stocks, and inventories supplies, and assists in performing clerical duties. Escorts and transports patients to various hospital locations. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

High school diploma or equivalent
Certification and Licensing:
Certification in relevant specialty or field
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
- Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

Department Specific Functions
Reviewing medical histories, current allergies and medications, obtaining vital signs, wound care to include suture/staple removal, knowledge of sterile technique along with OSHA and HIPPA standards. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Maintain work area, exam rooms, supplies, medications and immunizations Perform basic triage per specific office protocol procedures. Recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols. Pulls up x-rays, MRI’s, CT’s, and various studies pertaining to the patient’s exam. · Disposes of bio-hazardous waste and sharps according to OSHA regulation and replaces sharps containers when existing containers are full. Responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service and fostering a positive workplace atmosphere among all practice staff. Cleans and autoclaves instruments
