The Vice President, HR Market Operations is responsible for formulating and directing all areas of human resources (e.g., Compliance/Employee Relations, Talent, Total Rewards and Training and Development) for all regions. The incumbent in this role oversees the HR business functions and ensures quality operation of all HR-related processes and procedures for each region. He/She also serves as the primary HR Business Partner for the Chief Operating Officer. The VP, HR Market Operations acts as the strategic advisor and provides management consultation to the regions’ executive leadership regarding all HR-related matters and activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategizes, plans and implements HR policies, procedures and practices within each region in the most appropriate manner to maintain business expectations. Engages and aligns HR resources on business strategy, HR agenda and related deliverables.
Provides consultation and direction to the region’s executive leadership regarding internal HR activities; including the movement of employees, Talent Management (TMODL), Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition and Employee Relations. Actively participates in the external recruitment efforts of leaders and administrators for market/region assignments including recruitment strategy, interviewing and selection.
Directs all aspects of the HR function within the regions, typically 4 – 7 regions.
In conjunction with the Regional HR Directors, designs and develops the HR agenda and workforce plan for each region. Builds strategic talent succession plan for HR and other areas. Actively promotes positive employee engagement with a focus on retention of talent.
Defines requirements to reach business goals. Collaborates with COEs in identifying solutions, takes the lead in their implementation and engages in ongoing assessment of HR process effectiveness and identification of improvement opportunities and solutions.
Leads efforts and provides guidance on organization effectiveness, changes and designs interventions and initiatives within the regions.
Maintains confidentiality of all information being assessed, evaluated or processed.
Performs other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally and nationwide up to 40% of the time

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, HR Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or a closely related discipline OR additional experience above the minimum will be considered in lieu of the required education on a year-for-year basis required
Master’s degree in HR Management or a related field highly desired
A minimum of 12 years’ progressive work experience advancing from HR Generalist or a specific HR-focused area into upper-level HR management/leadership roles required; in healthcare, a health network, pharmacy or related sector strongly preferred
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or other comparable, related HR certification highly desired
Experience in establishing, developing, training and leading teams of HR professionals
